Takis Kasparis is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at CUT. He received the diploma in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, the MS Degree from City College of New York and the PhD degree from the City University of New York, both in Electrical Engineering. He has taught at City College and New York Institute of Technology before joining the University of Central Florida in Orlando (UCF), where he held the positions of Assistant, Associate Professor and Professor. While at UCF he has received several awards in recognition of excellence in teaching, including the prestigious Joseph M. Biedenbach Outstanding Engineering Educator Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). His research interests include Digital Signal Processing with applications to Remote Sensing, Biomedical, Communications, Audio Processing, Power Electronics as well as Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision and Electronic Circuits.
